Next newcomer for 2nd league
VfL Osnabrück has signed its third new signing for the upcoming second division season. Dave Gnaase signed a working paper with the purple-whites with an undisclosed term. The defensive midfielder was most recently a regular at third division competitor Saarbrücken, where promotion was narrowly missed. There the working paper of the 26-year-old expires after the past season. With 37 competitive games, Gnaase was the third most played FCS player in 2022/23.
Gnaase could “take on different roles in central midfield,” emphasized VfL sporting director Amir Shapourzadeh. “He’s two-footed, plays at high intensity and is physically robust. We are very pleased that we were able to convince Dave of VfL despite other interested parties.” Lars Kehl (21, SC Freiburg II) and Charalambos Makridis (26, Jahn Regensburg) will also be new to the VfL squad from July 1st. In Saarbrücken, Gnaase Stand is now one of twelve departures after missing promotion and the second to move to the 2nd division.
Dave Gnaase is new signing number three for the coming season. The midfielder moves from 1. FC Saarbrücken to Osnabrück. Good luck Dave!!
