Havertz is not an issue
According to reports, a change from Chelsea professional Kai Havertz to Real Madrid will not take place and can be shelved. As the “Marca” reported, England captain Harry Kane is said to be the preferred successor to Karim Benzema (35), who has been Los Blancos’ top scorer for the past five seasons following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo (38). According to this, Tottenham Hotspur’s clipper Kane has already signaled his interest to the “Royal”.

According to the Spanish newspaper, the fee could be between 80 and 100 million euros – but Real doesn’t want to pay more for the attacker. The 29-year-old Kane has a contract with the Premier League club until 2024, but wants to leave Spurs. “Operation Kane is rolling … and Havertz is disappearing,” says Marca. In the past, Kane has always been traded as a top-class option at FC Bayern, but the trail doesn’t seem hot anymore at the moment.
With Kane & Hernández: Most valuable players with contracts expiring in 2024
Most recently, the “Bild” reported that a possible change of the 23-year-old German national player Havertz, whose contract with Chelsea is dated until 2025, to the Madrilenians could quickly take place. According to this, Havertz is the player of choice for coach Carlo Ancelotti and President Florentino Pérez to succeed Benzema.
The English “Daily Mail” had also reported on Real’s interest in the former Leverkusen player, but also wrote that the number one candidate was Kane – who once again drew attention to himself with 32 goals in 49 games across all competitions and is by far Tottenham’s record goalscorer.
Benzema left Real after 14 years and moved to Al-Ittihad Club in Saudi Arabia. The Spanish runner-up is therefore looking for a top reinforcement for the storm center, Havertz has already played this position both at Chelsea and for Germany. In a complicated season, he managed just seven goals in the Premiere League for the Blues. As twelfth in the table, Chelsea clearly missed out on the Champions League, which means changes in the squad are expected – although the Londoners, who will be coached by coach Mauricio Pochettino, already broke the world record in 2022/23 with €611.5m in one season.
