Justice calls on officials to continue negotiating after the elections

After being together all day, the Ministry of Justice has called on officials to continue negotiations after the general elections on July 23, an offer that has been considered insufficient by union representatives that, however, they hoped to be able to reach some kind of agreement in extremis after having mobilized for the last two months. To force it, union representatives have decided lock yourself in the ministry waiting for an interlocutor other than the Secretary of State for Justice, tontxu rodriguezwhich in a note has been described as “unfeasible” any agreement.

The strike committee, which accuses Justice of breaking the negotiations “abruptly”, had indicated that the ministry had limited itself in the afternoon to handing them “a four-paragraph page document in which it does not even convey the proposals that had formulated verbally during the morning and that they were also absolutely insufficient” for the officials.

Without any proposal, they added, It only includes the “commitment of the ministry to continue the dialogue started once the electoral period has elapsed& rdquor; and only in relation to a possible new law of organizational efficiency of Justice “without any mention of functions or remuneration”.

Given the non-existent offer from Justice, the unions presented their own proposal, which included all the demands for compensation and recognition of functions that gave rise to the conflict, and asked the Ministry of Justice for a recess to try to get some kind of offer that allow the mobilizations that began in April to be suspended.

unfeasible agreement

Justice responded by sending a note to the media in which it considers it “unfeasible” to reach any type of agreement and reproaches the unions for not having consulted the bases on their commitment to “negotiate the new draft Law” on organizational efficiency, “prior to the start of its parliamentary process, as soon as the new Cortes Generales are constituted and a new Government is formed “.

In addition, it was very critical of the decision of the unions of not consulting with the bases, “denying any option for constructive dialogue during the meeting”, said the statement in which it is recalled that in December 2021 a salary equalization agreement was reached with the officials “with a commitment to investment of almost 40 million euros, a claim that went back years.”

In addition, he regretted the damage to justice that the 47 days of indefinite strike maintained by the officials, whose union representatives have decided to lock themselves up in the ministry to try to find a different interlocutor than Rodríguez, are causing.

The mobilizations of the officials began as soon as Justice agreed to a rise of more than 400 euros with the lawyers of the Administration of Justice. First they were some partial stoppagess with the argument that they assumed day-to-day responsibilities that officially correspond to the body whose remuneration had been improved or to the judges, for which reason they demanded a remuneration adjustment in accordance with their real tasks and based on the provisions of the law of organizational efficiency of justice, which the electoral advance has thrown to the ground.

The stoppages, which began two months ago, were replaced by strikes three days a week and later, by indefinite strikes. despite this the ministry did not agree to meet until they threatened to take the minister, Pilar Llop, and her Secretary of State, tontxu rodriguez, to the Supreme Court for not sitting down to negotiate. Among other allegations, they criticized that Justice had met with judges and prosecutors, with whom it had also agreed to a salary increase, and the officials had not even been summoned, which they considered “classist” and “rancid corporatism.”
