Puper gives the club until January 1 to find new directors. “I woke up this morning and I thought: ‘I’ll just call the KNVB and say we’ll pull the plug on July 1’, but then I read something from Pieter Omtzigt this morning that we can complain, but we have to do it ourselves. make something out of it.” So Puper sticks to it for a few more months.
Internally, according to Puper, there are enough people who are suitable to become a board member. “No one has reported to us yet, but we are going to invite people to ask them what they can do for the club.” He is especially looking for people with a higher vocational education level. “All due respect to the volunteers, but not everyone is suitable for a board position. We are looking for young people who act at a higher vocational education level, who have to stand up, but they often have young families and busy jobs.”
As a last resort, the old board sees only one thing: paid employees. “But then the contribution has to go up and we don’t want that.” If that also fails, Puper fears that they will go in the same direction as VV Emmen. “You can already see that they stopped playing performance football this week, that may also be an option for us.”
