A 47-year-old man from Eindhoven reported to the police last night for the robbery of Albert Heijn XL in the Woensel shopping center earlier that evening. The man said he committed the robbery. Shortly before the supermarket, a gas station nearby, on Huizingalaan, was robbed. The man may also be responsible for this, but that is still being investigated, the police said this morning.
In both robberies, the perpetrator threatened with a weapon. Cash was stolen during the robbery at the gas station. At the supermarket, the robber left without any loot. Based on the descriptions of the perpetrators, the police soon suspected that it was the same perpetrator. In the home of the suspect who reported, the police found a weapon. She also confiscated money that may have been stolen during the robbery of the gas station.
It is striking that the police indicated yesterday that they were looking for a perpetrator between 55 and 60 years old. The suspect who turned himself in is 47.
