Soap bubbles reinforce Charter Generation Smoke Free
The ‘Generation Smoke Free’ charter aims to achieve the European target of having five percent fewer smokers by 2040. No one should even be a smoker among young people under the age of 15. But there is still work to be done: research by the Anti-Cancer Foundation shows that a quarter of Belgians still smoke.
Cities such as Waregem have already determined that you are no longer allowed to smoke in playgrounds or along youth football matches. ‘Seeing smoke makes you smoke’, is the thought.

Thirteen cities and municipalities and the Local Health Consultation have now signed the Smoke-Free Generation charter. In doing so, they are committed to protecting children against the adverse effects of tobacco and to preventing them from taking up smoking. (continue reading below the video)
