Injured Haaland also misses European duel with Rangers FC

Borussia Dortmund will have to do without striker Erling Haaland in the Europa League against Rangers FC on Thursday. The 21-year-old Norwegian has been struggling with a muscle injury for a few weeks and drafting him is “not an option yet”, said trainer Marco Rose. In Sunday’s league match with Borussia Mönchengladbach, the club’s top scorer might be able to participate again.

Haaland was also injured twice before the winter break. He missed, among other things, Norway’s crucial away game with the Dutch national team in the World Cup qualifier. The striker was also missing during Borussia Dortmund’s home match against Ajax in the Champions League.

Dortmund will take on the Scottish club Rangers FC on Thursday at 6.45 pm, where Giovanni van Bronckhorst is the trainer.
