The Russian armed forces have completed part of the military exercises together with Belarus and are returning to their garrisons. The units of the Southern and Western military districts have already begun loading onto rail and road transport and are sent to their places of permanent deployment.
Part of the exercises, in which servicemen of almost all military districts are now taking part, has come to an end. Heavy equipment began to be relocated to places of permanent deployment.
The day before, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported this to the Supreme Commander Vladimir Putin.
“The exercises are conducted by the Western Military District, practically in all fleets – this is in the Barents Sea, the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Pacific Fleet. The troops of almost all military districts take part in them. Some of these exercises are coming to an end, some will be completed in the near time,” the Russian Defense Minister said.
Here are the shots taken this morning – the loading of tanks, self-propelled artillery mounts, infantry fighting vehicles onto railway platforms.
“A number of combat training activities, including exercises, were carried out in accordance with the plan. As the combat training activities are completed, the troops, as always, will make marches in a combined way to the points of permanent deployment. The units of the Southern and Western military districts that have completed the tasks have already begun loading onto rail and road transport, and today they will begin moving to their military garrisons. Separate units will march on their own as part of military columns,” said Igor Konashenkov, Major General spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry.
But a convoy of Russian T72B3s is leaving the training ground.
A large-scale test of the reaction forces of the Union State on the territory of Belarus is still ongoing. The troops of the Eastern Military District and the Airborne Forces, in cooperation with the Belarusian armed forces, are working out the issues of repelling conditional aggression. This week, a stage of live firing is planned at the Obuz-Lesnovsky training ground. At the same time, all movements of military units are as transparent as possible.
“During this event, the marines brigade, together with formations and military units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus, with the support of operational-tactical and army aviation, will work out the tasks of conducting a defensive battle and performing maneuvers in other directions. Military attachés are invited to draw practical actions as observers on defense issues at the embassies of foreign states in the Republic of Belarus and media representatives. In the operationally important areas of the world’s oceans and the waters of the seas adjacent to the territory of Russia, a series of naval exercises are being conducted, in which surface ships, submarines and naval aviation are involved,” – Konashenkov said.
These exercises of the Russian military are taking place in accordance with all international rules and are no different from the previous ones, except perhaps for yet another hysteria accompanied by the West around the situation in Ukraine.
“Russia has conducted and will continue to conduct exercises throughout the entire territory of the Russian Federation. This is an ongoing process, as in all countries of the world. This is our right to conduct exercises on our territory, and it is not subject to discussion with anyone,” says Dmitry Peskovpress secretary of the President of Russia.
The fact that Russia is in favor of reducing military risks and for holding exercises at the maximum possible distance from the line of contact between the borders of Russia and NATO, Sergey Lavrov said. True, the North Atlantic Alliance, as if in opposition to Moscow’s position, continues to build up its military presence near the Russian borders.
“By the way, last year, when we conducted the Zapad-2021 exercises, even as an illustration, as a gesture of goodwill, we moved the main phase of the exercises to the Nizhny Novgorod region, this was also not appreciated,” said Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov .
The final stage of the Russian-Belarusian exercises will last until February 20. After that, the remaining Russian units will also return to their permanent bases.
