Tooor for Eintracht Frankfurt, 1:0 by Sjoeke Nüsken

Frankfurt rewards itself for a good start! A short corner flies to Nüsken, who surprisingly misses the ball in the center. Pajor misjudges the bounce and so the ball bounces off her thigh unhappily into the lower right corner!

13:19

Almost 1:0! Freigang is sent deep and this time she gets the ball. She has to turn on the edge of the box, but this attracts the attention of three defenders. This allows her to lay the ball down for Anyomi, who puts the ball on her left foot briefly and then deflects it to Frohm and dem post fails!

13:19

The hosts are alert and often win the ball in midfield, giving them some space up front. So far, however, they’ve been pretty fussy about it.

13.

13:16

After a short ice treatment, Jónsdóttir returns to the field. That doesn’t seem so bad after all.

12.

13:15

Sveindís Jónsdóttir holds the back of his thigh. That doesn’t look too good, especially since there are no external influences to be seen.

10

13:13

Again and again Laura Freigang and Nicole Anyomi run up, but then they are clearly overplayed. They have already had to watch an opponent run off them or Merle Frohms pick up the ball three times.

9.

13:13

It goes happily back and forth, although the penalty areas are mostly taboo. The first corner of the women from Frankfurt brings nothing.

8th.

13:11

On the other side, Wolfsburg has the first degree! Pajor is left alone on a cross from the right, but cannot fully reach the cross. From the head the leather flies over the gate!

7.

13:11

The Eintracht women also register on the offensive. Prašnikar’s cross also slips over the instep and flies behind the boards.

6.

13:09

Both teams know about the qualities of their opponents and so this is a relatively leisurely start. Mistakes want to be avoided.

4.

13:07

The wolves attack again from the right. At full speed, however, the cross attempt slips slightly over the instep and thus directly into the goal.

2.

13:05

On the right wing, Pajor is sent just behind the line and wants to play across the run of his colleague. However, the leg of a woman from Frankfurt got in the way in time.

1.

13:04

The ball rolls in the Eintracht stadium, which is clad in black and white. Whistles echo from the ranks because Wolfsburg starts. Let the wild ride begin!

12:58 p.m

A good 20,000 spectators gathered in Deutsche Bank Park. In a fantastic atmosphere, the teams step onto the lawn. It will not be long!

12:51

This game is led by the experienced Angelika Söder. The 34-year-old psychologist receives support from line assistants Isabel Steinke and Annette Hanf.

12:43 p.m

VfL Wolfsburg clearly won the first leg. The Wolfsburg women were already 3-0 up at the break thanks to second goals from Jill Roord and a goal from Ewa Pajor. After the break, Jill Roord completed the hat-trick before Sara Doorsoun made it 5-0 just before the end.

12:34

The Wolfsburg women, on the other hand, change surprisingly often, but they also have the upcoming DFB Cup final in mind. Ewa Pajor is back in action after recovering from a cold. Lynn Wilms, Kathrin-Julia Hendrich, Alexandra Popp and Sveindís Jónsdóttir begin. Joelle Wedemeyer, Jule Brand, Pauline Bremer and Taber Waßmuth are on the bench for this. Dominique Janssen is missing from the squad.

12:26

As already discussed, the form of the Frankfurt women is fantastic. That’s why Niko Arnautis rightly sees no reason for a change in the starting XI, especially since things only got tight in the recent 2-3 win in Leverkusen after all the changes had already been made. So everything stays the same.

12:19

Since the Munich team won the second top game of the day against Hoffenheim yesterday, VfL are under pressure. With a win, this year’s Champions League finalists would come within a point of FCB, so the pressure on the Wolfsburg team is correspondingly high. However, the youngest form with successes in the league, in the cup and in the premier class is excellent, which is why self-confidence should prevail among the wolves.

12:09 p.m

While most of the media is talking about the championship fight between VfL Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich, Eintracht’s excellent performances are getting a little lost. They have taken 19 points out of 21 from their last seven games and lost all season only to the teams that are now fighting for the championship. So it may well be that the Hessians are the decisive stumbling block for Wolfsburg and thus come within three points of the Wolves.

12:00 p.m

Top game on Mother’s Day! Eintracht Frankfurt welcomes VfL Wolfsburg at 1:00 p.m. Welcome!
