Dadize residents come to view plans at Dadipark
The municipal council provisionally adopted the spatial implementation plan for this at the beginning of March, and the public inquiry will run until the end of this month. The site will provide space for living, relaxation and water buffering.
The plans for the new use of the Dadipark site have been dragging on for years. The recreation park closed its doors in the early 2000s, demolition followed 10 years later. Recreation is also part of the new plans with a watchtower, just like housing and water buffering: very important in flood-prone areas.
The municipality of Moorslede leaves open the possibility for the residents to participate. They could view the plans at an information market and make additional suggestions. The final design should be ready this fall. And then we have to wait for concrete action on the ground.
Sherley Beernaert, Alderman for Spatial Planning: ‘After that it’s up to the province to get to work. That is phase 0 of the project, the water story. That is very important, that is the first phase. Nothing can follow without the water story.’
