For Eintracht Frankfurt, the 1: 3 at 1899 Hoffenheim put another damper on the fight for European places. Almost even more bitter for the Hessians was the misstep of a member of Oliver Glasner’s coaching team.

In the final of the Bundesliga season, Eintracht Frankfurt’s nerves are increasingly on edge. What applies to coach Oliver Glasner, who argued with a journalist at the press conference after the defeat against Hoffenheim, apparently also applies to one of his assistants.

Athletics trainer Martin Spohrer, who was not in the stadium in Sinsheim on Saturday, allowed himself to be carried away by a nasty insult on social networks during the game.

Tempers had previously boiled up on the pitch because TSG had been awarded a controversial penalty. However, the Eintracht side claimed to have seen a swallow when Daichi Kamada contacted Christoph Baumgartner.

Meanwhile, Spohrer directed his anger directly at the Hoffenheim professional and wrote the message “HRNSHN Baumgartner” on Twitter. Although he deleted his tweet a little later, many users had already seen his verbal slip.

Eintracht Frankfurt: Consequences after “H****sohn” scandal?

On Sunday, the 45-year-old spoke up again to apologize for his statement.

“Something like this shouldn’t happen to me under any circumstances and was unprofessional!” Wrote Spohrer. “It happened in the excitement of what I felt was a provoked penalty, but that doesn’t justify the tweet or the choice of words.”

Still, his misstep could have wider consequences for the athletic trainer. According to “Bild”, there will be a conversation between Spohrer and license player manager Timmo Hardung on Monday.

Sports director Markus Krösche could also take care of the matter, the paper suspects.
