Turkish University Sports Federation Football Super League Competitions were held at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Facilities. In the final of the 5-day tournament, Istanbul Esenyurt University and Samsun 19 Mayıs University faced off. Samsun 19 Mayıs University won the match 1-0 and became the champion. At the final whistle of the match, Istanbul Esenyurt University students verbally attacked the opposing team players and referees. A football player from Esenyurt University wanted to attack 19 Mayıs University students with a plastic chair. The police blocked the football player with his teammates on the field.

After the match, referee Alper Oran filed a complaint against Esenyurt University goalkeeper Yakup Yeşil, who insulted him. After Oran’s complaint, Yakup Yeşil went to the police station to testify. During the meeting at the police station, Alper Oran stated that Yeşil would abandon his complaint on the condition that he donate to the earthquake victims. Yeşil also donated 2 thousand 340 liras to AFAD Presidency. Thereupon, Oran abandoned his complaint. Afterwards, the Esenyurt University group left Burdur.
13 TEAMS FIGHTED
In the tournament where 13 teams competed in 4 groups, Istanbul Aydın University, beating Kütahya Dumlupınar University 2-1, came in third. Medals and trophies were presented to the winning teams in the tournament by MAKÜ Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Durmuş Acar and Rector’s Advisor Dr. Lecturer Mustafa Kılınç.
