The Swedes’ new album is scheduled for release on August 11th.
The Hives have announced their first new work in over a decade. It will be titled THE DEATH OF RANDY FITZSIMMONS and will be released on August 11, 2023. The Swedes released the first single from their new record “Bogus Operandi” on May 2nd, 2023. A music video for the track with a horror look can be seen on YouTube.
Frontman Howlin’ Pelle Amqvist doesn’t want to know anything about a possible maturing process. “Who the hell wants mature rock ‘n’ roll?” the singer said in a press statement. “I think people always get it wrong. “Rock’n’Roll, but grown up” – nobody wants that!” It says there. Rock ‘n’ roll is a “perpetual teenager” for Amqvist. The band wanted to channel this vibe for THE DEATH OF RANDY FITZSIMMONS.
The Hives are next up with the Arctic Monkeys trip be. It opens in Hollywood on May 9, 2023, with more shows planned in the UK and Sweden. The final concert of the tour will take place on August 19, 2023 in Rättvik, Sweden.
