Charles Leclerc not (yet) talking to Mercedes: ‘I love Ferrari’ | formula 1

According to Italian media, Leclerc would like a move to Mercedes because of his disastrous start to this season in Formula 1. He has retired twice and has only scored 6 points. Last year he won two of the first three races and led the championship.

“For now I am fully focused on Ferrari and I have full confidence in the future. It has always been a dream for me to be in this team and my main priority is to win a world championship with Ferrari. I love this team,” said the Monegask, whose contract with the Italian team runs until the end of 2024.

At Mercedes, he is named as a replacement for seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. When asked if team boss Toto Wolff had called him, Leclerc replied: ,,No, not really. You all laugh because you don’t believe me, but I mean it.”
