Nyon (dpa) – The finalists of this year’s European Cup finals will receive “a considerable number of free tickets” for their own fans.
“Each of the finalist clubs can use these cards to reward their most loyal supporters,” shared the European Football Association
Union UEFA with. The two clubs that reach the final of the Champions League on May 28 in St. Petersburg will each receive 5,000 tickets, while the clubs in the Europa League final on May 18 in Seville may each distribute 4,000 tickets.
Participation in the final of the new Conference League (May 25/Tirana) and the final of the Women’s Champions League on May 22 in Turin will also be rewarded with 3,000 free tickets per club. The tickets may only go to fans, not to sponsors, partners or club officials.
From Germany, FC Bayern is still in competition in the premier class, in the Europa League RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen play in the knockout round. FC Bayern and VfL Wolfsburg are still in the running for women.
“Football fans are the lifeblood of the game and we thought it would be a nice way to recognize the difficulties they’ve experienced over the past two years and how they’ve still managed to support their teams and live their passion, too when they weren’t in the stadiums,” said UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin.
