AGCO (NYSE: AGCO), a global manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, infrastructure and precision technology for agriculture, today announced it has signed an agreement with Hexagon to expand its offering of steering systems for the factory assembly and aftermarket markets. The new steering system is sold as a Fuse Guide for Massey Ferguson and Valtra tractors.
The new agreement builds on the existing agreement between AGCO and Hexagon to distribute Hexagon | NovAtel GNSS Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers and global TerraStar Correction Services both factory and through AGCO dealers. Fuse Guide will offer a market proven, robust guidance and electronic steering system. Like the premium steering systems from AGCO, the extremely accurate NovAtel SMART7 receiver will also be used in the Fuse Guide.
This solution allows customers to choose between third-party aftermarket systems and AGCO’s premium integrated steering systems, MF Guide and Valtra Guide. The market launch of Fuse Guide in Brazil is planned for the second quarter of 2023, with additional markets to follow in 2024.
“The guidance and auto-steering technology is a first step towards precision farming that can optimize input efficiency and crop yields. We believe this agreement will increase the acceptance of precision farming technology in our communities growth markets by allowing us to offer an easy-to-use and competitively priced guidance solution to farmers in more regions,” said Mark Theuerkauf, Director, Fuse Go-to-Market at AGCO.
