Gianni de W. (24) from Etten-Leur also seduced nine good friends to send him nude photos. Then he extorted them with it. According to the Public Prosecution Service, he used fake names. Five of them have filed a report. Police spoke to four others. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the suspect had a friendly or romantic relationship.
The public prosecutor said in court in Breda on Tuesday that the blackmail had an enormous impact on these victims. “One of them knew the suspect from school. They were both bullied and stood up for each other. They developed such a good relationship that she started to see him as a brother. They regularly met and did fun things together. ”
The girlfriend even told Gianni to send nudes to someone. She didn’t know at the time that he himself would be behind it.
The prosecutor tells how she feels: “You tell someone you see as your brother that you are being harassed. And then you find out that it was probably him who blackmailed you with sexually explicit photos and videos.”
The police questioned Gianni de W. in March. He had promised openness, but according to the officer he did not give it.
According to his lawyer, the suspect is quite shocked. “At the moment it makes me dizzy when I see what has come to me,” says De W. in a statement. He has confessed to a number of things. He said it “should never have happened” and that he wants to work on himself so that it doesn’t happen again.
