Cyclist (14) on e-bike injured after head-on collision with scooter

A 14-year-old boy collided head-on with a scooter on the Guisweg in Koog aan de Zaan with his e-bike this evening. The boy was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

The accident occurred on the bike path around 6:45 p.m. A spokesperson for the police informs NH that an investigation by the Traffic Accident Analysis shows that the driver of the e-bike probably ended up on the wrong side of the road. “In doing so, he collapsed head-on against the scooter.”

Not approachable

When the police arrived on the scene, the 14-year-old boy was not easily approachable. He was taken to hospital by ambulance. “There was not much going on with the scooter rider,” said the spokesman. The cyclist was riding next to someone at the time of the accident, this person also remained unharmed.
