Golf superstar Tiger Woods made a disappointing start to his 25th Masters in Augusta. The 47-year-old played a 74 on the par 72 course on Thursday and has to improve on Friday in order not to fail the cut.
Woods only made his comeback in February last year after a serious car accident, he only wants to take part in the majors and two or three other tournaments a year. On the first round in Georgia, too, the American suffered from problems with his injured right leg. Woods played five bogeys and three birdies at the Augusta National Golf Club, always with great interest from the spectators.
Meanwhile, USA’s Kevin Na and Will Zalatoris both retired due to illness and injury on day one. Na is now on the controversial LIV tour, the world number eight Zalatoris finished second at the US Open and the PGA Championship last year.
