“Call It A Comeback”, a 42-minute documentary with highlights from “Rock am Ring” and “Rock im Park” from 2022, will be released on Thursday (April 6th). The film can be viewed on YouTube from 7:15 p.m be seen in the stream:

The film is not a purely journalistic project that should be expected to be overly critical. It was commissioned by the organizers and is intended to whet the appetite for the 2023 festival season. “Call It A Comeback” also sums up an extraordinary festival year in which concert life returned after the Corona pandemic. After a dry spell of three years, there was another festival summer. “Call It A Comeback” now also tells about what this meant for fans and festival staff: inside and of course all the musicians: inside and bands. The Donots and Sportfreunde Stiller show their backstage rooms in the documentary. There are concert scenes from Green Day and the Beatsteaks.

Die Toten Hosen and Rock am Ring/Rock im Park

A highlight of the film should of course be the surprise appearance of the Toten Hosen. “Rock am Ring is probably the best festival in Germany,” says Campino after his band’s previously unannounced performance. This year, the Hosen are guests again in their second living room after Düsseldorf.

Day tickets available

At the same time, advance sales for “Rock am Ring” and “Rock im Park” 2023 will enter the next phase this week: day tickets for both festivals are now available. These are available in advance from 99 euros.

Lineup for 2023

Die Toten Hosen, Kings Of Leon, Limp Bizkit, Rise Against, Bring Me The Horizon, KIZ, Evanescence and many more have already been announced for the twin festivals. The absolute highlight should be the appearance of the Foo Fighters. Her drummer Taylor Hawkins died over a year ago. At the turn of the year, Dave Grohl and Co. announced that they also wanted to continue for him. Probably with changing live drummers.
