Along with bands like My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy are emo veterans. From own hits like “Thnks fr th Mmrs” to discovering and signing Panic! At The Disco on bassist Pete Wentz’s own label, the Chicago quartet are having a massive impact on the scene.

We met Wentz and drummer Andy Hurley for an interview and talked to them extensively about their new record “So Much (For) Stardust”. The musicians shared how they dealt with the absence of guitarist Joe Trohman from the music video shoot due to mental health issues and how Weezer mastermind Rivers Cuomo’s wry humor influenced the Heartbreak Feels So Good clip.

Speaking about the recent comeback of the emo sound, Pete Wentz also said: “It used to be difficult to imagine that this music could ever become popular again. Nobody wanted to be called emo back then. That really wasn’t cool.” Nevertheless, the two welcome the revival and revealed why Games We Play is one of their favorite newcomers. They also talked about why they are particularly excited to be able to perform the songs “Love From The Other Side” and “Heaven, Iowa” from the new album live on stage.
