Some things just sound too good to be true: an Expo in Berlin and a smooth trip to Brandenburg by train – without changing to an expensive fare zone.
The coalition agreement between the CDU and SPD promises a lot. On closer inspection, however, there are also things that Berlin cannot decide on its own.
The coalition is dependent on others in many areas: at the Expo on the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), on the railway tariff zone on the VBB, on the façade of Schinkel’s Bauakademie on the federal government.
The CDU and SPD must hope that the others will voluntarily play along with their plans for Berlin.
