Chelsea and Palmeiras faced off in the final of the FIFA Club World Cup. Referee Chris Beath whistled at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The match, whose regular time ended 1-1 with mutual goals, went to overtime. Defeating their opponent 2-1 with a goal in extra time, Chelsea took the trophy to their museum.
The goals that brought Chelsea the championship were scored by Romelu Lukaku in the 55th minute and Kai Havertz from the penalty spot in the 117th minute. Palmeiras’ goal came from Raphael Veiga from the penalty spot in the 64th minute.
