Schmidt started working for Benfica last summer after leaving PSV. The German worked for two seasons at the Eindhoven club, with which he won the KNVB Cup. He is having a good season with Benfica. In 25 games, the team lost once. The club also convincingly qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League at the expense of Club Brugge. Benfica will face Inter in the quarter-finals.
