More than 4,000 ecstasy pills were found on Monday in a house on the Johannes Vermeerstraat in Coevorden. On Tuesday, a hemp nursery with more than 200 hemp plants was found in a building above the gym on Parallelweg. Both properties were closed for three months.
‘Tackling (synthetic) drugs is one of the spearheads for the municipality of Coevorden, in addition to possession of weapons, in tackling crime’, the municipality reports.
By closing a building, the municipality is trying to end drug trafficking from or near the home and ‘restore the residential and social climate in the area’.
