Eintracht Frankfurt announce Willian Pacho’s transfer from Royal Antwerp

Comes from Antwerp

The transfer of the Ecuadorian national player Willian Pacho to Eintracht Frankfurt is perfect. The Hessians announced the summer move of the 21-year-old central defender from Belgian first division club Royal Antwerpen FC on Thursday afternoon. Pacho has signed a contract that runs until 2028.

According to media reports from Germany, the basic fee for Pacho is 9 million euros, which is in line with the market value. With bonuses, it can reportedly grow to a double-digit million amount, which according to “Het Laatste Nieuws” is 16 million euros. Antwerp is said to have initially demanded around a fixed 15 million euros for the defender who came in January 2022 and was one of the big winners in the Belgian market value update.

€15.34 million of the sum comes from Benfica’s resale participation when switching to Real Madrid.

Pacho initially costs as much as the most expensive defender in Eintracht history: Martin Hinteregger. In the ranking of the most expensive additions to the “Adler”, he is tied for fourth place. If Pacho fulfills all bonuses, only Luka Jović would be in front of him, but his €22.34m comes mainly because Benfica benefited from a resale participation in the striker’s move to Real Madrid.
