During the week, a bug made it possible to retrieve rewards for achievements in Division Rivals multiple times in FIFA 22. Players who have unlawfully enriched themselves must now expect a ban.

Each restart of the FUT Web App ensured that the rewards could be collected again. Of course, word of the bug got around quickly via social media and many fans already expected that the game developer EA would draw consequences from the incident.

Players who have repeatedly claimed said rewards will be banned for one week. Anyone who has massively exploited the bus will even be permanently excluded from the transfer market in FIFA 22.

EA has so far left open the exact criteria for the harsher penalty. Affected accounts have already been blocked.

Not the first bug in FIFA 22

In the context of FIFA 22, there have been repeated errors over the past few months. Mostly it hit the Ultimate Team mode.

For example, it happened that promised card types were not available in the appropriate packs. Perhaps the most notable bug, however, was fixed at the end of October.

Because previously it was possible to leave a running game without consequences via the PlayStation or Xbox dashboard. So if you were behind, you could use this option to avert an impending defeat.

Is the punishment hard enough?

At that time, EA banned over 30,000 accounts, which often exploited the said error and thereby violated the in-house “Positive Play” guidelines. The game developer refers to exactly this guideline again this time.

The seven-day ban in particular causes a lack of understanding among many users on social media. Because said punishment is comparatively harmless in the eyes of numerous fans compared to the loot that has been won.
