What was the pedestrian doing on the freeway?
A 78-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car on Autobahn 19 not far from the border between Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and was fatally injured. The accident early Wednesday morning led to disabilities between Wittstock (Brandenburg) and Röbel in Mecklenburg, a police spokesman said.
The two occupants of the car that drove towards Berlin suffered a shock and were taken to a hospital. The Accidentcause is still unclear.
To secure evidence, the A19 Berlin-Rostock was temporarily closed in both directions about eight kilometers north of Wittstock. Further details are still unclear.
