Ponnari can be found on almost every woman’s wrist, pocket or bag. If it’s a bad hair day, a ponytail or beanie often saves it.
Many trendy hairstyles are also made using ponnari. How harmful is this remedy for almost every woman?
– When used daily, Ponnari can damage the hair. Especially if you tie your hair in a bun that is too tight and always in the same place, hairstylist and Authentic Beauty Concept expert Katja Hämäläinen tells.
Hämäläinen reminds that the chosen hairstyle has an effect. A hair loop that damages the hair is one with a metal part or a hard seam.
Hämäläinen recommends using bunnies made of the softest possible materials, such as scrunchies or hair donuts.
When you finally get to open your hair after a long day, the scalp can feel tight.
– A too tight bobby pin forces the hair to go against its natural growth direction and thus causes tension. When the popnari is opened and the hair is released in its natural direction, it is felt as a tightening sensation in the scalp.
Hämälainen says that a dry scalp also adds to the unpleasant tightening sensation. The drier the scalp, the less elasticity it has.
– It’s good to remember to let your hair hang freely during the day, Hämäläinen says.
Hämäläinen reminds that hair should not be tied up while it is still wet.
– Wet hair irritates the scalp. Damp hair is also more susceptible to damage.
However, if you want to tie your hair up at night, a loose pigtail is the gentlest option.
