FC Bayern Munich surprisingly fired their head coach Julian Nagelsmann a few days before the Bundesliga cracker against BVB. What do you think: is this the right decision?
According to media reports, Julian Nagelsmann will no longer be the coach of FC Bayern. As the TV channel “Sky” reported, there should be an appointment with the Bayern bosses on Friday, at which Nagelsmann will be informed of the dismissal. On Thursday evening, the 35-year-old could already read about his dismissal in the newspapers – from France to England to Spain.
Julian Nagelsmann switched from RB Leipzig to Munich in the summer of 2021 as the successor to Hansi Flick for the record fee of 25 million euros. In his first season as a Bayern coach he won the German championship, in his second there is still a chance of winning the treble of championship, DFB Cup and Champions League. His contract is actually still long-term until 2026.
But it is precisely these goals that the bosses of FC Bayern, headed by CEO Oliver Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic, apparently saw in danger. What do you think: Is the separation from Julian Nagelsmann the right decision?
According to media reports, FC Bayern has already found a prominent successor in Thomas Tuchel. The former coach of Mainz 05, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea FC was also very surprisingly kicked out by the top club from London last September. Four months earlier he had won the Champions League with Chelsea.
If Tuchel is now hired by FC Bayern, the upcoming Bundesliga top game on April 1 between his former club Borussia Dortmund and the Munich team, which has slipped behind BVB in the table, would become even more explosive.
