André Hazes jr. during ‘HZH’ not on photo with Rachel

André Hazes Jr. spoke to the press more often during Holland Zingt Hazes than his own mother. In fact, during the four evenings he never took a picture with Rachel.

Artists who are deeply in it with Rachel Hazes have filled their pockets well over the past two weekends: the four-part concert series Holland Zingt Hazes is over. The most talked about moment was the first concert where André Hazes Jr. made his comeback and gave Rachel a pat on the head during his performance.

No picture with André

Not entirely coincidentally, this first concert was also the only one that was streamed live on Videoland. In other words: André created another headline moment there. Painfully enough, the folk singer confessed afterwards that he and Rachel still keep ‘appropriate distance’ behind the scenes. The two are at odds with each other for unconfirmed reasons.

A lot of people think that pat on the head was fake, including Patty Brard, and it does look like it. Rachel has a whole one yesterday photo dump of the concert evenings on Instagram and she really poses with everyone, even with an ex of André, except André himself.

Arguing yet?

In the meantime, Rachel is already preparing for the next edition of Holland Zingt Hazes, in 2024. “Let’s see who the family will be there then,” notes Evert Santegoeds in Shownieuws. He points out the inheritance issue between Rachel and her daughter Roxeanne. Evil tongues previously claimed that André would join camp Rox after ‘HZH’.

Colleague Bart Ettekoven then: “That is always a matter of waiting. André has said: ‘I’m good with my mother’. We haven’t seen any pictures of them together. No, but the contact is just there. Well, we’ll see indeed. Never a dull moment in this family of course, eh?”

Friends with benefits

Competitor RTL Boulevard had André in the show yesterday. Reporter Aran Bade asked him about his admission that he is nowadays friends with benefits is with Monique Westenberg. He now withdraws that: “No, listen. Listen carefully. I didn’t say it, did I? I said nothing. He said: ‘Friends with benefits’, and I said: ‘The benefits are definitely there.’”

When Aran asks if he is going to marry Monique, André replies: “Just stop it, man. No, listen. Really, from the bottom of my heart: she is the most important woman of my life to me.”

Ah, in Mijdrecht another carton of cigarettes hits the wall.

‘We don’t need anymore’

André continues his praise of Monique: “She has given me more love than I ever deserved and that she has always held me so tight, I appreciate that. Really despite everything. It sounds floaty, but we have found a shape that works well.”

And that shape is? “I have my place, she has her place, I love her with everything I have and I probably should have always done that, and she mine. We’re very good parents to Dré and we don’t need anything more, you know? It’s fine this way.”

Aran has his doubts about that form. “Then I wonder what that means for Monique, because when the first photo comes of a new date in Spain or in Amsterdam, we will of course call again…”
