FC Bayern spent around 18.5 million euros in the summer of 2022 to lure midfield talent Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax Amsterdam to Munich. Allegedly, after just one season, the Dutchman’s farewell is already clear.
Ryan Gravenberch has made 24 mostly short competitive appearances for FC Bayern this season. In the Bundesliga, the 20-year-old only made it into the starting XI once in 22 games. A yield that cost the Dutchman participation in the World Cup and does not live up to his claims.
In the summer of 2023, the youngster probably wants to break up his tents on Säbener Straße again and switch to Liverpool FC. A former Reds player is said to have accidentally leaked this in a live stream on YouTube.
As reported by several English media, including the “Sun” and the “Mirror”, the Spaniard José Enrique, who worked on the left defensive side at Anfield Road from 2011 to 2016, announced the deal during a broadcast on YouTube.
According to “The Bot Room”, José Enrique is said to have skimmed a list of some names of players who have recently been traded at Liverpool FC during the broadcast and got stuck in Gravenberch.
FC Bayern has the upper hand
Addressing his co-host, Enrique reportedly commented: “The player is ours, amigo. He said ‘yes’.” He has the information because Gravenberch, like him, was once advised by the agency from the now deceased star consultant Mino Raiola. The Brazilian Rafaela Pimenta has now succeeded Raiola.
“There was a meeting in London not too long ago. That’s our player,” Enrique clarified, before his co-host cautioned him that he was on the air live.
According to The Bot Room, it was a glitch. José Enrique is said to have only tested how a live stream works on YouTube and was probably not aware of the reach of his words. The alleged video is no longer accessible.
It remains to be seen whether a change will come about or whether it has actually already been decided. However, “Sport Bild” recently reported that those responsible at FC Bayern had no intention of parting ways with Gravenberch. Should this be the case, Liverpool’s prospects are likely to be rather poor. Especially since the legal footer’s contract only ends in the summer of 2027.
