DG Sivasspor hosted the Italian team Fiorentina in the UEFA Europa Conference League Round of 16 rematch. Towards the last minutes of the match, two fans of Sivasspor entered the field.
The security guards, who wanted to catch the fans who entered the field, ran behind the fans for a while. The fans, who hugged the Sivasspor football player, were caught by the security forces.
While the caught supporter was taken out of the field, the match continued from where it left off after a short break.

Losing 4-1 to Italy representative Fiorentina in the last 16 round of the UEFA European Conference League, Sivasspor’s Coach Rıza Çalımbay made a statement at the press conference held after the match.
Çalimbay started his speech by apologizing to the Italian team for the brawl that broke out due to the fans entering the field towards the last minutes of the match. Çalimbay said: “We apologize very much. I apologize to all Italians. It was something that should not have happened. It even got ahead of the match. I apologize again and again. I hope that such an event will not happen again,” he said.

On the other hand, Fiorentina Technical Director Vincenzo Italiano also made statements about the incident.
A journalist said, “Towards the end of the match, the fans entered the field and there was a brawl. What can you say about that?” Italiano replied, “There is no comment to be made on this situation. I see it as a shameful situation. Our football player has a red nose. He is sitting in the locker room right now. I think such an incident ruined the whole game. As for the match, we played well and we won. I am glad we made the round.”
