One day after his round of 16 success against Olympic champion Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev extended his winning streak to 18 games.
At the Masters in Indian Wells, the Russian won his quarterfinals against the Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6:3, 7:5 and is now in the semifinals. Medvedev has not lost since leaving the Australian Open and has won 23 of 25 tennis matches this year.
On the way to the final, he now has to compete against the American Frances Tiafoe, who made it into the semifinals for the first time in a Masters competition on the ATP tour. He won 6-4, 6-4 against Britain’s Cameron Norrie.
