Mark Rutte gave Today Inside a viewing figure record last night, because no less than 1.5 million people watched the talk show on SBS 6. Will he return? Yes. “Next week!”
Wilfred Genee, Johan Derksen and René van der Gijp have with their special guest Mark Rutte set a viewing figure record. The episode of their talk show Today Inside with the Prime Minister at the table attracted no less than 1.5 million viewers to SBS 6 yesterday, good for gold at half past nine and a sky-high market share of 30 percent.
More than candle
The VI trio attracts more viewers with Rutte than with the candle special, the episode with which the men made their comeback after the candle break. 15,000 fewer people watched that. “They make sure that VI is the only talk show this election time that IS watched when it comes to politics,” say viewing figure connoisseur Tina Nijkamp.
She continues: “VI scores even higher than an election debate. The EenVandaag debate scored 1.1 million viewers. Viewing figure dominance for VI in this election time.”
Ruth back
Wilfred Genee has persuaded Rutte to return to VI in the very short term. He says in the section In The Hallways to the Prime Minister: “Yes, but you are also here because it is two days before the elections. You wouldn’t have come three days after the election. You come here with a motive. You come here to solicit votes.”
Rutte: “Yes, but also because you said: ‘He doesn’t dare!’”
Wilfred: “If you really had balls, you would have come in three days. Of course you are also here because you want to raise votes. You know that yourself.”
Next week
Rutte also wants to come by outside election time. “Yes, but listen: of course that’s true, but I’d be happy to come back in three days if that’s the point.”
Wilfred: “Well, then we agree on that.”
Rutte: “Well, I don’t know if Thursday is possible, but next week.”
Wilfred: “I would appreciate it if you would also come without an interest.”
Ruth: “Absolutely! Why do you think I wouldn’t want that? You yourself were the ones who said: ‘He doesn’t dare at election time.’ And then I responded with a video from winter sports, like: ‘Men, of course I’m coming. I think it’s a nice program.’ But of course I will. That’s where the whole team is. Write it down!”
Just flat
Wilfred thinks that’s good news. “Agreed with this one: he will come again soon! (…) He has said it now. Then we will agree on this here.”
Rutte: “But not this week. I’m really going flat next Thursday.”
Wilfred: “No, I get that. But soon Mark Rutte again, ladies and gentlemen!”
Rutte: “Nice!”
