Maarten van Rossem’s involvement in Eva Jinek’s family planning causes quite a stir. The jury member of the ratings hit De Slimste Mens thinks that her second baby follows her first birth too late, namely about five years. “It’s on the spacious side, I think,” he says dead serious in his podcast.

Youp gives an opinion

Woman columnist Hester Zitvast thinks the suggestion that Eva’s children will now build a less good relationship is nonsense and Heleen van Royen thinks it’s too sad for words. She says: “If you ever hear me give an opinion on the timing of pregnancy from a TV presenter – fun fact: you can’t time that – then you can call me on your mat.”

Now Youp van ‘t Hek is also joining the discussion. The comedian flew to New York this week and took in quite a bit of ‘typical Dutch news’ along the way.

misplaced

Youp finds Maarten’s criticism quite misplaced. He registers NRC: “Also read that Sylvie Meis is divorced and Eva Jinek is pregnant. Emeritus professor Maarten van Rossem has seriously said in a podcast that he finds the time between Eva’s children a bit on the long side.”

He continues: “The elderly chairman of the jury of De Slimste Mens, once a historian at Utrecht University, is publicly involved in Eva Jinek’s family planning. You wonder if I will come back to our country? I am more than highly doubtful.”
