Scored three important points in the Bundesliga top game, distanced a direct pursuer and took the lead in the table: Actually, BVB should have been completely satisfied on Friday evening. However, Marco Reus discovered a fly in the ointment.

One of the Dortmund match winners was particularly critical of the performance of his team in the second half. The guests from Leipzig had a lot more of the game here and were not only far ahead in terms of ball possession statistics (70:30), but also in terms of the number of shots fired (10:3).

He “didn’t like the way the game went, especially after the break,” said Reus after the final whistle. “We barely kept the ball in the second half and didn’t manage to keep possession,” he lamented. The Dortmund captain said his team rarely got into the opposing half to find solutions against the pressure from Leipzig.

“For us it was very, very difficult to switch with the ball, because then at some point the power also plays a role. But of course we are very, very happy that we got the tenth win in a row,” Reus still moved in at the end positive conclusion. At the same time, however, he would have wished for more lightness. “Like last week, we are struggling and have to tremble to the end.”

This assessment was also shared by RB coach Marco Rose, who explained that the result was difficult to accept. “The second half was more than clear to us,” said the former Dortmund coach about his return to the old place of work.

Already in the first half he didn’t have the feeling that his team was clearly inferior. “Over 90 minutes, with this performance in Dortmund, it’s hard to accept that we’re going to lose,” Rose quarreled.
