At FC Schalke 04 Rodrigo Zalazar trained under Dimitrios Grammozis, Mike Büskens, Frank Kramer and Matthias Kreutzer. The attacking midfielder is probably only really satisfied with the current coach Thomas Reis.
On “Sky” Zalazar followed up on his ex-coach: “It was very different with the other coaches. They are different types, everyone has their own way of playing. I think that we may not be so comfortable with the last coaches have felt.”
On the other hand, the Uruguayan raved about rice. “I think the team has improved a lot since the new coach arrived,” said the 23-year-old, adding: “I think he made us change the way we play and the way we press and I think it was an important point for us because we needed something new.”
Reis gives the players the necessary confidence and tries to get close to the pros. “He explains it in a very good way. I think now the team understands it. I understand the coach’s philosophy and the truth is that it’s going very well and I hope it continues like this,” Zalazar said.
Reis’ motivating manner off the field is also an advantage for FC Schalke 04. “It’s contagious when the coach is there too, pushing, motivating. You see him so committed to the team. That’s a plus and brings one more to give on the pitch,” said Zalazar.
Zalazar is convinced that FC Schalke 04 will stay in the league
Zalazar has no doubts that the Royal Blues will stay in the league. “Well since the beginning of the year I’ve known that I can’t imagine being relegated to the second tier because I know we’re going to do it because the confidence I have in the group is very big,” he said he clear.
At no point in the current season did the 23-year-old think of relegation. “I’ll do my best to add my grain of sand to not go under. But I firmly believe that if we continue like this and play the games like this, we won’t be relegated,” said Zalazar.
FC Schalke 04 clinched an important 2-1 victory in the basement duel against VfB Stuttgart last matchday. On Saturday (3:30 p.m.) the next relegation hit against VfL Bochum is coming up.
