Already working during the treatment of mental illness? This is possible via the IPS method (Individual Placement and Support). The cabinet and municipalities together make this possible by reserving more than 10 million euros for it in 2023.
Earlier it appeared that twice as many people with a distance to the labor market find a job through the IPS method, a reintegration method for people with mental disorders. Mental health care institutions can start today, March 1, 2023, to offer these programs to their clients in practice.
At IPS it starts with a conversation about work between client and mental health institution. If the GGZ institution and the client jointly agree that an IPS program is desirable as part of the treatment or guidance, the GGZ institution can submit a subsidy application for an IPS program to the municipality where the person lives. This is done via an application form that can be requested on the Divosa website (www.divosa.nl/ips). If there is still budget available, the municipality can make the decision to award a subsidy. The UWV manages the budget.
