Sleeping on a mattress in the church: Tynaarlo is preparing for new asylum seekers

The refugees who previously stayed in the Zuidlaarder church now sleep in the Wapen van Vries hotel. They will be there at least until April 1, 2023. According to the municipality of Tynaarlo, the owner and operator are now negotiating an extension. “Apparently they can’t agree yet,” says Thijsen, who knows that both parties are fighting the case in court. In October last year it appeared that the owner of the hotel felt surprised by the arrival of the asylum seekers.
