Record-level order book at Barco
Turnover is still lower than in pre-corona year 2019. Orders increased, driven by a strong economic recovery in all markets and across all regions, it is said. Turnover increased by 4 percent to 804 million. Barco is still seeing effects of the pandemic on business activities and component shortages there. In the fourth quarter, these costs the company an estimated 15 million euros.
Gross operating profit (EBITDA) for the full year amounted to EUR 58.5 million. The gross profit margin decreased from 36.8 to 35.7 percent, due to higher logistics and component costs, especially in the second half of the year.
For the first half of 2022, Barco expects a turnover increase of approximately 20 percent compared to the same period last year, if supply chain problems do not worsen.
