FSB: Ukrainian student involved in mass “mining” of objects in Russia and the CIS

Kiev student Anton Osipchuk, as well as members of “swatting” Internet communities, are involved in the mass “mining” of schools, hospitals and other facilities in Russia, Belarus, the DPR, LPR and other countries. This is stated in the FSB message received by RBC.

“In the course of the joint work of Russian and foreign law enforcement agencies, it was established that participants in the so-called “swatting” Internet communities were involved in organizing this criminal activity, and their organizers and administrators were a citizen of Ukraine Osipchuk Anton, born in 2003, a native of the Volyn region, undergoing training at the Faculty of Information Security of the National Technical University of Ukraine (Kyiv), as well as his accomplices,” the report said.

As a result of the measures taken in a number of Russian regions, 14 members of “swatting” Internet communities involved in the dissemination of deliberately false reports of mining operations were detained, the FSB said.
