Away from the gas, good insulation, mechanical ventilation, double glazing, new kitchens and bathrooms; according to the Woonconcept foundation, the flats will be ‘much more comfortable’. And that turns out to be very necessary. The buildings – which have stood here since the 1970s – have been examined in the past year. The research showed that renovation is unavoidable, both in the homes and in the public areas in the buildings. Bathrooms, kitchens and toilets are often outdated. And the outside of the flats must be given a new coat of paint, among other things. In March, work will start on the apartment buildings on A. van Ostadestraat and B. van der Helstraat. The flats on Ferdinand Bolstraat, Jan van Goyenstraat and Zuiderlaan will follow in 2024 and 2025.
