Marcus Forss powerfully bombed home Boro’s opening goal in Saturday’s round. PDO

Huhkajat tip Marcus Forss continued his strong scoring streak when Middlesbrough faced Cardiff in the English Championship.

The forward from Turku nailed the ball into the top corner from the middle of the penalty area when the match was only 11 minutes behind.

Forss has scored four goals in league games this season, and three of them have come since the turn of the year.

Forss came on as a substitute in the 69th minute and was no longer on the field when Riley McGree completed the 3-1 home victory numbers in extra time given by the referee.

Three points is an important addition of Michael Carrick for the group as it fights possibly even for a direct promotion place to the Premier League.

Correspondingly, Norwich’s chances of even getting into the promotion qualification are disappearing. On Saturday, the Canaries played in Bristol against the local City.

The hosts Mark Sykes scored the winning goal of the match 1–0 already in the middle of the opening period. Teemu Pukin the best chance came in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper Max O’Leary blocked Kotka’s long-range shot from the bottom corner.

The Norwich manager David Wagner tried to cheer up the visitors’ attacking game with substitutions in the second period, but nothing helped. Pukki played with binoculars for the entire 90 minutes.

Teemu Puki’s goal streak has been lost lately. PDO

Pukki has only managed to score in one league match this year.

The loss leaves Norwich already four points away from the qualifying points. Even more worrying is the fact that three other clubs can fit in between.

Joel Pohjanpalo started both Venezia’s goals in an important 2–1 home win over SPAL. The result casts at least a little faith in the future of the Venetians, even though the hopes of an immediate return to Serie A were already buried in the early season losing streak.

Also moved to Gelsenkirchen Jere Uronen can be reasonably satisfied with their league matches on Friday. Male Schalke played no less than the third consecutive 0-0 draw when they shared the points with Wolfsburg.

However, nothing can save the Miners from dropping to the Second Bundesliga.
