Frankfurt / Main (AP) – Second division soccer team Dynamo Dresden has to pay a fine of 60,000 euros because of the behavior of some fans.
That was decided by the sports court of the German Football Association in a single-judge procedure. In addition, the DFB control committee reserves the right to “apply for further sanctions in the event of repetition”.
According to the DFB, folders in the Dresden spectator area were severely attacked during the 2nd division game on October 23 last year at FC Schalke 04. “One of the stewards then collapsed unconscious outside the block. After first aid, he was taken to the hospital, where he was hospitalized for a few days. Another steward suffered several broken fingers. Other stewards suffered bruises and shock,” it said the message.
Normally, the control committee would have requested a fine of 80,000 euros. The sports court is currently granting a general discount of 25 percent with regard to the financial losses that the clubs are currently suffering from the reduced spectator capacities during Corona times, explained the DFB.
