Pelagia Kolotouros takes on the role of Creative Design Director at Lacoste.
She will lead the French sportswear brand’s creative studio and bring her vision to all collections, Lacoste announced on Monday. With its appointment, Lacoste is focusing on a new concept for the creative team. This approach focuses on a “collaborative studio model” with a collective vision. Previously, Louise Trotter held the creative direction.
“With her recognized expertise in developing collaborations with proven and unique influence, her ability to reinvent creative models to elevate pieces to iconic status, and her talent for bridging cultures, particularly fashion and sport, Pelagia has all the assets to accompany Lacoste in its new cycle of creative expression and in the pursuit of its goal: to become the most inspiring French brand in fashion sports,” said Catherine Spindler, Deputy CEO at Lacoste.
Before that, Kolotouros worked for the sports goods retailer Adidas in Herzogenaurach. There she was responsible for the collaboration lines Ivy Parkt – with singer Beyonce – and Pharrell Williams. It wasn’t the first time she’d worked for the sportswear giant. After starting her career at New York brand Theory, Kolotouros moved to Calvin Klein and then to Adidas for the first time, where she was responsible for the now-defunct Yeezy line in 2017. Before returning to Adidas in mid-2021, she worked in various senior design positions at outerwear brand The North Face.
