Volleyball, Super League: Perugia doesn’t give Piacenza discounts and scores the 18th victory

The 18th day begins with the 18th success of Perugia which also overwhelms Piacenza.

Another great performance by Perugia, which conquered the thirty-first consecutive victory, overcoming Piacenza in comeback, which collapsed in the second part of the match after having deservedly won the first set. Continuing the decision to implement the turnover, Andrea Anastasi kept out Leon, Flavio and Colaci (subsequently on the pitch), deploying Giannelli as playmaker, Rychlicki as opposite, Solè and Russo as central players, Leon and Semeniuk as spikers and Piccinelli as libero. In the second set Perugia reacted, driven by an excellent Plotnytski (6 points in the set) and always remaining ahead until 19-16, when, again on Simon’s series of hits (with an ace), Gas Sales Bluenergy returned to a draw on 19-19. Then the new extension of Perugia, which closed (25-22) with an attack by Rychlicki. The third set was practically without history (Piacenza with Alonso in place of Caneschi), with Perugia which managed to accumulate the advantage right from the start and with that margin maintained its superiority over Piacenza, which only in the final tried to bring it back with Leal and Simon, before the final sprint in Perugia, which ended (25-21) with an attack by Plotnytski (Mvp and best scorer of the match with 16 points, one more than Rychlicki and Simon). Same script in the fourth fraction, with Massimo Botti’s sextet detached from the start and unable to reopen the games, failing to keep up the pace imposed on the match by Anastasi’s men, who have grown both in batting and in the other fundamentals, for then going to conclude the match (25-17) with an attack by Rychlicki blocked off.
