ACID from Blankenberge again big winner The Jamies Awards

The Jamies were awarded for the third time this evening during the Film Festival in the Grote Post in Ostend. The Flemish online video awards honor the best online video makers of the moment. These are creatives who create video content on YouTube, TikTok, Twitch and Instagram in various styles and genres for a diverse audience.

Last year Nathan Vandergunst aka Acid from Blankenberge was the big winner, he received his prizes outside due to a corona infection.

New awards

During the gala evening, the Jamies awarded no less than thirteen video makers in the categories: Vlog, Fiction, Lifestyle, Dance & Music, Comedy, Explainer, the Kastiop Award for game streaming (with this honor De Jamies game streamer Kastiop who lost his life in 2020, ed.), Videographer and Emerging Talent.

New this year are: Best Business, Most Social Creator, Quarter life achievement and Nimcel (niche internet micro celebrity)).

Creative director Hannes Coudenys from Kortrijk was also nominated as best Business with his Instagram museum The Smile Safari, but that award went to VTM GO.

West Flemish talent

In addition, the public votes together for The best content creator of the year and The best video of the year. Both audience awards were received last year by YouTuber Acid, who has now again received two of his three nominations. He wins the prize of Best Vlog and Best Content Creator. Together with Jonatan Medart he is the big winner. Although the YouTuber himself could not be present tonight.

It is clear that there is also video talent in West Flanders. No less than twelve West Flemish people were nominated. Even though they are only Acid from Blankenberge and Ninalotte Roose (leading actress in fiction series 2DEZIT (Jamie for Best Online Fiction) and known from the film Bittersweet Sixteen, ed.) to take those prizes home.
