My ‘reptilian brain’ plays on: ‘Oh Walter, that one cookie is fine’
I’ve been on my quest for a healthier life for four weeks now. I exercise intensively, but pay particular attention to my diet. These are the difficult weeks, says my coach. Because now I’m going to have conversations with myself. ‘Oh well, one cookie won’t hurt’ or ‘that one time McDonalds won’t turn on right away, will it?’. It’s my reptilian brain that plays up and the mental battle has erupted.
