A fire broke out in a garden shed on Groeneweg in Heiloo on Sunday afternoon. In addition to the two residents of the house, their pets were also rescued.
The building has been completely lost, reports Alkmaar Central. The plume of smoke that rose was clearly visible from a distance. There were also loud bangs, possibly from exploding gas bottles.
A local resident said that the two people temporarily lived in the garden shed. Together with their rabbits and a parakeet, they have been taken in by the neighbours. No one was injured.
